• 1/2/2018 PURA Opens Rate Adjustment Proceeding After Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

  Today, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) initiated a proceeding to consider adjustments to rates that may be appropriate for Connecticut customers of regulated utilities, to account for revisions to tax laws—including corporate tax rates--contained in the recently enacted Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (Tax Act).

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced that five members of the Connecticut fire crew will be departing 2:00 p.m. today (August 15th) from DEEP Eastern District Headquarters, 209 Hebron Road, Marlborough to assist the U.S. Forest Service in fighting wildfires in western states.

  The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) today announced that two Connecticut residents have tested positive this week for West Nile virus (WNV) infection, bringing the total for this season to five human WNV cases.

  A 2017 consumer awareness campaign in Connecticut led to an increase in the quantity and quality of recycled plastic film packaging, such as bags and wraps, in the greater Hartford area, according to a report released today.
