The State of Connecticut offers a variety of services to help eligible individuals who need support to live at home or to return to community living. Many of the programs are administered under a Medicaid ‘waiver,’ meaning that Connecticut has received federal approval to waive certain Medicaid requirements to meet the service needs of older adults and adults with disabilities in the community.

The John S. Martinez Fatherhood Initiative focuses on changing the systems that can improve fathers' ability to be fully and positively involved in the lives of their children.

The portal includes a website and call center, as well as career opportunities for caregivers. It asks consumers about their needs and shows how they can pay for care and also lists housing, long-term care insurance and transportation options.
Agency: Department of Social ServicesA patient is eligible for a medical marijuana certificate if they are a Connecticut resident with a debilitating medical condition. Conditions that qualify as such are cancer, glaucoma, Parkinson's, post-traumatic stress disorder and epilepsy. To meet certificate eligibility requirements, a patient must be 18 years of age or older, must be a Connecticut resident and cannot be an inmate in a Connecticut correctional facility.
Agency: Department of Consumer ProtectionA patient may only register for a medical marijuana certificate if they are a Connecticut resident being treated for a debilitating medical condition by a Connecticut-licensed physician. Debilitating diseases include cancer, glaucoma and Parkinson's, among others.

The division oversees the programs of compliance and enforcement, commission of pharmacy, prescription monitoring program and the medical marijuana program.
