Violations of Crime Victims’ Rights
The Office of the Victim Advocate provides oversight of state and private agencies, and advocacy to crime victims when a violation of their rights is at issue. The OVA receives and reviews complaints of persons concerning the actions of any state agency or other entity that provides services to crime victims.

Information provided includes the offenders last known address and physical descriptors as well as location, date, and details of the offense. The DESPP has not considered or assessed the specific risk of re-offense with regard to any individual prior to his or her inclusion within this Registry, and has made no determination that any individual included in the Registry is currently dangerous.

To obtain a state pistol permit, citizens apply at their local police departments or the first selectman's office. SLFU is responsible for processing the 5 year permit after the 60 day permit is obtained. Out of state residents must call 860-685-8494 to obtain an application packet.
