DEEP Announces $1 Million in Grants Available for Water Quality Improvement Projects
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced today that Connecticut has received approximately $1 million in funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that are available for communities, local conservation groups, and other organizations to improve water quality in lakes, rivers, and streams that are not meeting water quality standards. DEEP administers these grants and is now accepting proposals for fiscal year 2019.

DEEP Statement on Fire at Silver Sands State Park
On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at approximately 10:43 p.m., the Milford Fire Department as well as State Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police and other agencies responded to Silver Sands State Park to a report of a structure fire involving three buildings that were under construction.

DEEP Kicks-Off a Comprehensive Review of Connecticut’s Water Quality Standards
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is conducting its triennial review of Connecticut’s Water Quality Standards to determine if revisions are necessary. DEEP is requesting the public’s input regarding the current standards, and recommendations on what to focus on, as part of the 2019 review.
