  • 12/19/2013 Gov. Malloy Statement on November Labor Report

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today issued the following statement regarding the release of the Connecticut Department of Labor's "Labor Situation" report for the month of November 2013. The monthly report announced that Connecticut's unemployment rate decreased for the third consecutive month to 7.6 percent.

(better known as Unilever) in a matter involving Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today asked Metro-North Railroad to provide an action plan addressing safety issues on its system following the tragic train derailment Sunday morning in the Bronx. In addition, Governor Malloy has asked that the report from the inspection of the track that followed the Bridgeport derailment be provided immediately, as well as monthly reports of all track, bridge, signal, power, equipment inspection and maintenance action.

Malloy today held a ceremonial bill signing in Fairfield to commemorate final passage of legislation, Public Act 13-183, which requires that certain foods intended for human consumption that are entirely or partially genetically engineered to be labeled as such.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Educators’ Common Core Implementation Taskforce is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, May 14, at Cromwell High School, 1 Donald Harris Drive in Cromwell. The meeting will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and will be held in library.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Commissioner of the Office of Early Childhood, Myra Jones-Taylor, State Department of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor, state legislators and local officials, this afternoon signed two bills at the Helen Street School in Hamden that will expand pre-kindergarten for the state’s three and four-year-olds, add dyslexia as a primary specific learning disability for children requiring special education, and formally establish the Office of Early Childhood.

  • 5/21/2014 Gov. Malloy: Funding for Road Resurfacing Will Repave State Primary Roads Following a Harsh Winter Season

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Deputy Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) Commissioner Anna M. Barry, today highlighted $11.9 million on the Bond Commission’s upcoming agenda to fund the state’s annual maintenance and road resurfacing program, which – combined with $57 million in previously approved funding – will repave and repair 264 miles of primary roads around the state following an especially harsh 2013-14 winter season that included record-breaking cold temperatures and 12 snow and ice storms.

Malloy on Friday morning announced that he has signed legislation clarifying that it is illegal for a person to falsely represent themselves as being the recipient of a medal or decoration for military service when it is done with the intent to fraudulently obtain money, property, goods or services.
