Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Dedicate New State Office Complex in Honor of Ella Grasso and Joseph Fauliso
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today held a dedication ceremony at the new state office complex located at 450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford, where they announced that the two buildings on the property are being named in honor of former Governor Ella Grasso and former Lt. Governor Joseph J. Fauliso.

Gov. Malloy Announces Deployment of Additional Connecticut National Guard Resources to Assist with Hurricane Irma Response

Gov. Malloy Announces Flags will be Flown at Half-Staff Monday in Observation of 9/11 Anniversary
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, September 11, 2017, in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks. Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the U.S. flag, all other flags – including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise – should also be lowered during this same duration of time.

Gov. Malloy: UConn Receives Highest Position to Date in Survey of Nation’s Top Public Universities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today are congratulating the University of Connecticut on receiving its highest ranking to date among the nation’s top public universities, having reached No. 18 on this year’s U.S. News & World Report list and marking its seventh consecutive year in the Top 25. UConn was one of 1,389 national public and private universities ranked as part of this year’s U.S. News survey.

Gov. Malloy Sends Legislators Compromise Budget Proposal
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released a compromise budget proposal for FY18 and FY19. The proposal achieves dramatic structural change geared at stabilizing Connecticut’s finances over the long-term, while also being responsive to concerns voiced in recent months by legislators, town leaders, and recipients of state aid. This is the Governor’s third balanced budget proposal since February.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Continues Humanitarian Efforts for Puerto Rico, Sends National Guard Crew to Help Establish Communications Infrastructure
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that in the state’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to assist Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, a crew of thirteen Guardsmen from the Connecticut National Guard departed Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby on a C-130H cargo plane on Tuesday morning and are headed to Puerto Rico, where they will assist local government authorities in establishing and maintaining urgently needed communications equipment that will be used in the ongoing recovery and response efforts. Almost immediately upon arriving, the Guardsmen – eight Soldiers and five Airmen – will set up Joint Incident Site Communication Capability (JISCC) equipment capable of connecting local, state, and federal-level authorities together through voice, video, and data communications.

Gov. Malloy and Emergency Management Officials Provide Storm Preparedness Tips as Height of Hurricane Season Approaches
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and state emergency management officials are reminding Connecticut residents that the tropics remain very active and people should take the needed steps to prepare well in advance of any storm threatening the state. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the principle threat period for Connecticut occurring between mid-August and mid-October.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, UConn President Susan Herbst, and Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) President Mark Ojakian are strongly criticizing a decision announced today by President Trump that he will terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, putting the futures of over 800,000 young people across the country in jeopardy through no fault of their own. They are calling on Congress to take action as soon as possible to reverse this ill-conceived action.

Gov. Malloy and Attorney General Jepsen: Connecticut Joins Multistate Lawsuit Challenging President Trump on DACA
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that Connecticut has joined with a coalition of 14 other states and the District of Columbia in suing President Donald Trump and his administration seeking to invalidate his memorandum that ends the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and to enjoin federal agencies from using information gathered through DACA in immigration enforcement efforts.

Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that Anthem and ConnectiCare Benefits, Inc. have committed to participate in Connecticut’s health insurance exchange, Access Health CT, for 2018. Approximately 100,000 Connecticut residents purchase coverage through Access Health CT.
